It is almost an understatement to say that Whitford is a club that likes competing. Whitford members are enthusiastic competitors in all Clwyd YFC’s competitions and recently celebrated a double whammy in public speaking with the club finishing first overall in both the Welsh and English contests.
Now the club has its mind on Titles Night, where members will vie for the honours of Junior Member of the Year, Senior Member of the Year and County Queen. Then it will set its sights firmly on June’s rally.
In the meantime, the club, which has just under thirty members ranging from 13 to associate member age, is organising a programme up to mid-March when the rally practise will begin.
Since September the club has graced the aerial ladder platform during a visit to Rhyl Fire Station, taken part in stock judging, toured tractor company Emyr Evans A’i Gwmni in Denbigh and the ladies enjoyed a Body Shop party.
In November they celebrated Guy Fawkes’ Night with a bonfire at Sylfaen Farm in Flint, the home of their president Tom Stephenson. A cheque for £70, donations collected on the evening, has been presented by the club to the Royal Agricultural Benevolent Institution.
The club will now be out and about on trips and visits so anyone who would like to join should contact the officials below for programme details.
